Recent activities, like those seen above, created a desire to establish a chapter of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) to promote the trumpet at Henderson State University and bring guest artists to campus. It took several years to create a constitution, become recognized as an official student group at Henderson, and apply for membership as an affiliate chapter of ITG. Membership to ITG was granted on February 4, 2009.
