The concert was a complete success!!  Wayne Bergeron's performance was amazing and the band played really well. The crowd loved it!

The High Note: Post-Concert Reception to Honor Earl Hesse

E-mail Print

A reception immediately following the Wayne Bergeron concert will honor Dr. Earl Hesse, retired professor of clarinet and sax at Henderson State.  Earl is playing the lead tenor sax book during the Bergeron concert and is one of the finest jazz musicians on the planet.  If you have any doubts, come to the concert!

After the concert, enjoy coffee and homemade desserts before you enter the Studio Theatre where some of Henderson State's past students will perform, including Marc Ballard, Allan Wimberly, and John Wier, providing the proper atmosphere to visit and talk before KKY&TBS make their presentation in honor of Arkansas' music legend, Dr. Earl Hesse.  Follow this link for more information and to reserve your spot:  The High Note

Pre-Concert Dinner Honors Dr. Wes Branstine

E-mail Print

Wayne Bergeron's clinic is from 3:00 to 4:30, but the concert doesn't start until 7:30.  Need a place to eat?  Consider joining us at 5 pm for the dinner to honor HSU low brass professor, Dr. Wes Branstine.  Wes impacted nearly every music major to go through Henderson for 31 years and was a huge influence on all brass students.

The meal will be Branstine Ribs.  Wes cooked for the Henderson band camp for decades, drawing in folks from more than 100 miles away.  Henderson alum Jeff Coventry will re-create this legendary meal -- trust me, you will not go away hungry!

Saturday, March 15th, 5pm - Banquet Hall, Garrison Center, HSU.  Tickets are $10 and can be ordered online at:  Branstine Ribs
