Joe Neisler was born in Jackson, Tennessee and attended North Side High School, where he studied music with Lynn McNatt. After graduation, he attended the Indiana University School of Music, majoring in horn performance. There he studied with Philip Farkas, Myron Bloom,Meir Rimon, and Michael Hatfield. He holds the Bachelor and Masters of Music in Horn and a Doctorate of Music from Indiana University.
Dr. Neisler is currently Solo Horn of the Peoria Symphony and Opera Illinois and Professor of Horn at Illinois State University where he performs with the Sonneries Woodwind Quintet and the Faculty Brass Quintet. Dr.Neisler has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony and the Memphis Symphony. He is formerly principal horn of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony and Sinfonia da Camera.
Joe Neisler is currently the Horn Clinician for Bands of America. He has served as Jurist for the American Horn Competition and has performed as a soloist at Regional and International Horn Workshops. Joe Neisler has performed with Julie Andrews, Tony Bennett, The Moody Blues, Vince Gill, Johnny Mathis, Suzy Bogguss, Englebert Humperdinck and Robert Goulet. Dr. Neisler has performed and given masterclasses in North America, Europe and the Orient. Mr. Neisler performs exclusively on a UMI Conn 8DY and is an Artist/Clinician and Educational Specialist for United Musical Instruments U.S.A., Inc.
