Tim Schodowski, director of bands at Quitman (TX), and trumpet professor at Tyler Junior College, presented a guest recital on Tuesday, March 12, at 7:30 pm. At 12:30 pm he spoke to the Henderson trumpet students about ways for band directors to stay motivated to find time to practice and perform.

Tim Schodowski is a native of Malvern, Arkansas. He holds a Bachelor in Music Education degree from Henderson State University, a Master in Music Education degree from Texas A&M University Commerce and a Master in Educational Administration degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. Tim is currently the director of bands for the Quitman Independent School District and has a total of 17 years in public education. He also serves as an adjunct music professor at Tyler Junior College.
Tim is also an active musician and has performed with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas Brass, Rose City Brass Quintet, Fort Worth Ballet, East Texas Jazz Orchestra, South Arkansas Symphony, Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra, Tyler Big Band, Texarkana Jazz Orchestra and several Jazz combos.
