Dwayne Sagen is Assistant Dean for Admissions, Adjunct Professor of Music, and Director of the Vanderbilt Symphonic Wind Ensemble. He is also Coordinator of the M.Ed. program. He received his B.M., M.M. from Northwestern University and his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.

Sagen is the author of papers and articles on instrumental music education and is both clinician and adjudicator of marching and concert band festivals and honor bands throughout the United States and Canada. He was trumpet and horn professor at Henderson State University from 1969-1972 and assistant director of bands and chairman of the University of Mississippi Department of Music from 1972-1986. He has been director of the Vanderbilt Bands and Symphonic Wind Ensemble since 1986.
