“The Natural Trumpet” was written for a class on wind music. I became so interested in this project that it became an 84-page document.
“The Trumpet in Bologna and its Role in the Evolution of the Concerto” was a paper for a class on central Baroque music. (I didn’t even know there was a middle Baroque until I took this class.) I suspect this paper would be controversial if it were better known, since it elevates the trumpet to the driving force behind the concerto’s development.
